All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) – 2010

Date of Exam: All the candidates who are eligible as per the criteria of eligibility, shall be required to appear at the All India Pre-Veterinary Test, which will be conducted by the Council on Saturday 8^th May 2010 @ 02:00pm to 05:00pm

Introduction:
The Veterinary Council of India is a statutory body established under Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (52 of 1984 ) and charged with the responsibilities of regulation of Veterinary practice, preparation and maintenance of Indian Veterinary Practitioner’s Register, regulation of minimum standards of Veterinary education and matters connected therewith. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 22 read with clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 21 of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984, the Council with the prior approval of the Central Government has framed Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course (B.V.Sc.&A.H) Regulations, 2008. As per the provisions of regulation 7(7) of the aforesaid Regulations, the Veterinary Council of India conducts All India Pre- Veterinary Test for filling up 15% of the total number of seats of the Veterinary Colleges.

Examination: The All India Pre -Veterinary Test (AIPVT)-2010 shall be an objective type (multiple choice and reason assertion type) examination to be held on 08.05.2010 (Saturday) from 2 to 5 P.M. at designated centers in the country for admission to Veterinary Colleges (B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course) under 15% quota to be filled by the Veterinary Council of India. Eligibility: An applicant is eligible for admission to the All India Pre Veterinary Test if the following criteria are met with :- He/She is an Indian national. Since the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 have not been extended to the State of Jammu &

Kashmir, candidates from that State shall not be eligible to appear in the said examination unless they submit an Affidavit in enclosed Proforma on NonJudicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that:- They are not eligible to compete for B.V.Sc. &A.H. seats in the State of Jammu & Kashmir and hence, not eligible to seek admission in Veterinary Colleges of Jammu &Kashmir and they are not domicile of Jammu &Kashmir.

Note : Applications not accompanied with the required Affidavit shall be rejected without any further reference in this matter. SuchAffidavits submitted by the candidates shall be verified and if found to be false, the admission of all such candidates shall be cancelled and legal proceedings initiated against them.
