Junior Research Fellows for Meteorological Projects: 4 posts
Applications are invited for four junior research fellows for a period of three
years or the completion of the project whichever is earlier under the following three sponsored projects.
1. Understanding the IOD formation mechanisms and the variability in the thermal structure of the tropical Indian Ocean
2. Understanding the impact of high resolution winds on the numerical models of the north Indian Ocean
3. Understanding the vertical structure of the tropical Indian Ocean and its variability using SARAL/Altika data
Essential Qualifications:
A good Master’s degree in Meteorology, Oceanography, Atmospheric Sciences, Physics, Applied Physics, Mathematics, or Statistics or Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering.
Desirable Qualifications:
Candidates having M. Tech. (Meteorology / Atmospheric Sciences) or having research experience in the field of numerical modeling/physical oceanography will be given preference.
Knowledge of computer programming and good mathematics background will be preferred.
Age Limit: 28 years as on 1.7.2010
Tenure: 3 years or project completion whichever is earlier (likely to be converted as IITM JRF).
