Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Number of positions available: 3

Qualifications: a) M.Sc. in any field of LifeSciences/ M.Tech/ M.E/ M.B.B.S./ B.D.S/ M.V.Sc/ M.Pharm.

b) Candidates who have cleared CSIR-UGC NET will be prefered.
Monthly stipend Rs. 12,000/- fixed + 30% HRA for year I and II
Rs. 14,000/- fixed + 30% HRA for year III

There are three positions currently available in the two interdependent research projects “Genomic and Proteomic Analysis of Chronic Meningitis” and “Development of Infrastructure and a Computational Framework for Analysis of Proteomic Data” under the DBT Programme Support on Neuroproteomics for Proteomic Investigation of Neurological Disorders. Selected JRFs will be trained in cutting edge technologies using high-resolution mass spectrometry. Research Associate (RA):

Qualifications

a) Ph.D./M.D./M.D.S. and M.V.Sc./M.Pharm./M.E./M.Tech. with 3 years research/teaching/Design and development experience.

There are two positions of RA currently available in the research project “Development of Infrastructure and a Computational Framework for Analysis of Proteomic Data” under the DBT Programme Support on Neuroproteomics for Proteomic Investigation of Neurological Disorders. Responsibilities of successful RAs include coordinating activities of proteomic analysis of chronic meningitis and neurological stroke and establishing the data analysis protocols. They will get an opportunity to work with high-resolution mass spectrometry. Research Scientist:

There are two positions of Research Scientists currently available in the research project “Genomic and Proteomic Analysis of Chronic Meningitis” under the DBT Programme Support on Neuroproteomics for Proteomic Investigation of Neurological Disorders. Responsibilities of Research Scientists include coordinating activities of genomic and proteomic analysis of neurological disorders and subsequent data analysis using established protocols. Additional responsibilities include writing manuscripts, proposals and driving collaborative research projects. Bioinformatics Programmer:

Qualifications

a) Should have experience working in C/PERL/Python, HTML, and MySQL. Experience in content development and content management systems will be preferred.

b) Exposure to molecular biology, genetics/genomics, biochemistry or bioinformatics is desirable.

c) Candidates who have cleared BINC will be prefered.

There are two positions of Bioinformatics Programmer currently available in the research project “Development of Infrastructure and a Computational Framework for Analysis of Proteomic Data” under the DBT Programme Support on Neuroproteomics for Proteomic Investigation of Neurological Disorders. Responsibilities of successful RAs include coordinating activities of proteomic analysis of chronic meningitis and neurological stroke and establishing the data analysis protocols. Faculty Scientist:

1. Applicants should have a strong theoretical background, as well as previous research experience in at least one of these areas: Molecular Biology, Cancer genetics/genomics or Biochemistry including animal cell culture
2. Applicants must have a Ph.D. with publications in journals of international repute.
3. Applicants must have strong interpersonal communication skills to work independently or in a team. Candidates should also possess proven abilities in scientific writing.

Responsibilities of the successful candidate include independent as well as collaborative research in areas including, but not limited to, Molecular biology, Genomics and Proteomics. He/She will also be expected to write research proposals to various national and international funding agencies.

Salary is not a constraint for the right candidate.
