Host Institution
Anna University was established in 1978 as a unitary type of University. Became the largest affiliating type technological University since 2002. The origin of the University starts way back in 1794 as a survey school. Upgraded to Civil Engineering School in 1858. Mechanical Engineering in 1892, Electrical Engineering in 1930, Tele-Communication Engineering in 1945 and Highway Engineering in 1945 were added later. Currently University has 8 Faculties, 30 Departments and 43 Centres offering a wide spectrum courses in
engineering, technology and allied sciences at Undergraduate, Masters, MS, and Ph.D level.
